We offer a wide range of therapies including individual therapy, couples counselling, and adolescent therapy.
While working together, your therapist can draw on many different therapy styles to meet your unique needs and preferences. Each psychologist at our northern sydney practice is well versed in gold standard therapy approaches (like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and then have also picked up further skills and training towards helping clients with issues close to their heart
For example, Carol specialises in therapy styles that assist with substance abuse, Aleksandra specialises in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) for overwhelming emotions, Sara offers The Gottman Method for couples counselling, while Ilona and Charlene offer Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients manage anxiety and trauma. If you're after a particular therapy style from one of our practitioners, just send a quick message to our lovely admin team. They know our clinicians back to front, and will be able to help match you with the best person to support you

We really wish this was an easy one to answer! How long therapy will take depends on what brings you to therapy in the first place, and what purpose you're wanting therapy to serve in your life.
We see therapy as a gift to the self. So for us, we will never really be 'done' with that.
That said, some people use therapy in the short-term (6 to 12 sessions) while others find developing a lasting connection with a psychologist or psychotherapist more helpful. Weekly sessions are recommended to start if you are in crisis or really struggling, and as you start to feel better, sessions can be held fortnightly or monthly.
If time or financial investment are a worry we can work together using a brief solution focussed approach. This is where our work is broken into stages where you focus on one set of goals, for example improving low mood or relationship problems, and leave the rest for later

All our therapists are highly qualified and experienced professionals, committed to providing the highest standard of care.
All of our registered psychologists in north sydney have qualifications that meet the rigorous standards of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and all of our registered psychotherapists are members of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA)

Sessions with our psychologists are accepted by private health insurers depending on your cover. It is always best to check your eligibility for psychology cover with your private health insurer. They will know for certain what your coverage entitles you to!
Your private health insurer may also have certain requirements on who you can see from our team. Some are happy for you to see a psychotherapist for example, and some only cover sessions with psychologists. So best to just give them a call and ask.
We also accept medicare rebates from everyone with a Mental Health Care Plan referral. How this works is, you settle the invoice for your session with us, and then our lovely admin team process the rebate for you to receive $93.35 back into your bank account
-
Yes! To claim with Medicare, book in for a GP referral called a Mental Health Care Plan before your first session with your psychologist of choice

Under Medicare, the rebate for seeing a registered psychologist is $96.65. You can receive 10 medicare rebates towards psychology sessions per calendar year. You can also receive 40 rebates per calendar year if you are seeking help for eating disorders. In general most people are eligible for 10 rebates each year.
Medicare release your 10 rebates to you in one set of 6, then you will need to pop back to your GP to receive a Mental Health Care Plan Review letter, which releases the remaining 4 rebates.
Once you're a client with RewireMe, our admin team take care of your Medicare claiming for you after each session. All you have to do is keep track of how many rebates you've used as you see your psychologist, and make sure you go and visit your GP when it's time for your Mental Health Care Plan Review

Unfortunately no we can't accept medicare bulk-billing for psychologist sessions. We wish there was a way to provide you with an exceptional therapy service while bulk billing, but it's frankly not possible. It is really important to us to provide you with a supportive calming space to visit and for you to have access to the best therapists, so we've chosen not to compromise on that. While we're extreamly grateful to live in a country that provides a medicare rebate at all, the rebate amount will need to change before bulk billing will be possible
